This drawing was commissioned by Jenny an old high school friend and her fiancee.

Love is TANGO and TANGO is love! Yes, it is a dance, yet so much more then just any dance. It is an ongoing conversation between two souls, two hearts and two bodies. It is a sacred dance we enter in with one another, where both "masculine" and "feminine" feel fully expressed and honored.

Under the influence of X and several mint Mojitos she woke up the next day changed. With a sensitivity to sunlight, and a thirst for human blood she thought she had caught syphilis. Turns out she's just a vampire now. Now she has just signed a deal with MTV for a new reality series called My Life Sucks."

They wanted to have something original instead of the regular guest book to sign. Well the groom of the happy couple is a motorcycle enthusiast and they wanted to work the whole family in the drawing, kids, and dogs and all.

It's Day Two. Pencils are coming along for the gift. On day three I hope to get the faces in, and by day four or five I hope to start on inks.

Hey boy and girls!

I'm working on a special wedding gift for my Sister (in-law) Angie and her Fiancee' Austin.
I want to do a Movie Poster featuring the Bride and Groom,I sent them an e-mail last week detailing my intentions:

Dear Angie and Austin.
I've been wanting to do something special for the upcoming nuptials. I was wanting to do some kind of art to mark the moment, but I was killin myself for what would be right. So an idea struck me...we'll put it up for a vote! I'll do four sketches and then we can have all our family and friends vote on it! I'll post the sketches on my blog and Facebook and then they can vote on it there...it's very web 2.0. After the sketch is picked I'll update the drawing online (pencils, inks, colors) so everyone can see the progression of the drawing! So let me know what you think...If you're up for it, I'll do the sketches and put them up online. Early Congrats and we love you very much.

I am validated!

I got a really cool e-mail the other day from Devin Hyde (who I worked with on the Bullet Angelica.) It went a little like this:

"Hey Matt,

I have been at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival for the last two days,
and it has been pretty great. Yesterday I waited in line to meet
Scott McCloud (and his wife). When I got to the front of the line we
chatted for a bit, and he commented that he really liked my shirt, and
was wondering where it was from. If you guessed that I was wearing my
Bullet Angelica shirt then you guessed correctly! I told him it was
for a web comic, the Bullet Angelica, that I used to work on. The
McCloud's laughed a little, and Scott reiterated that he really like
the logo. I agreed that "my friend Matt" did a really good job."

I now feel validated! Scott Mcloud liked the shirt I designed. That's pretty cool...

Eye'n things up.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and the morning was cool enough that I
took Jack and his pal Matthew out for a small trip. We made it over to
Laumire Sculpture park. I had not been there in years.

There had been a few additions to the park but really not much had
changed.

Em and I have a bunch of pictures that we took there from when we were
just had only been together for a couple years. All of them looked like
something you would see in a Gen X movie like "Singles" or "Reality
Bites". I may have to post those.

From my first day of my new job.

For those who don't know I started a new job. It's been pretty hectic,
that's why there hasn't been a lot of activity at drawsumthincool. But I
thought it's pretty funny that I found a red Swingline stapler in my new
office. Kinda ironic, but funny. If you don't get the joke go out and
rent Office Space right now. It carries much truth, and we should all be
looking out for our own Red Swingline Staplers.

I've decided to change up the name of this segment. Since this is window into life, I thought the title should reflect on more on me as a person than of just me being an artist.
(h)Asian is meant to be pronounced hay-shun, as in half-asian. It's strange and fantastic to be apart of two cultures. But also strange and weird to be looking into see that you are different.

Let me know your thoughts on the change.
