DSC Mini 22: Vicki!

"Vicki!" Is what she screamed as she ran into battle with pistols in both hands as they charged the ice cream truck.  The gatling gun mounted inside the truck unleashed rapid rounds of paint on the rushing platoon of Greendale students.

Sadly, Vicki was one of the first to fall, her first appearance was in Season one: 

Intro to Political Science.

I apologize for the tardiness of this weeks Community-centric DSC Mini, but I got tied up with preparations for yesterdays (Saturday March, 16th) first "Comics at Jen's".

It was a great time, and so much fun getting kids psyched up about comics and drawing!

DSC MINI 21:Fat Neil

It's Thursday again! You know that means another Community based DSC mini!

This week is Fat Neil, first introduced in the episode: "Asian Population Studies",

he is best known the episode: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

Interesting trivia bit: The character of Fat Neil is named after former Community executive producer Neil Goldman.

DSC MINI 19: Garrett Lambert

"I don't take orders from girls. They don't talk to me."

It's thursday! So it's time for another Community based DSC mini, and this week is Garret Lambert!

His first appearance was in season one's Social Psychology.

Also just wanted to let you know that the big news I've been talking about will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

S4 of Community premieres, and DSC MINI 17: Annie's Boobs

"Did I miss it?"Asked Scrooge.
"Miss what?" Said the boy looking up from the street?
"Why the season premiere of Community!" Yelled Scrooge.

It was then the monkey that had been sitting on the boy's shoulder sprinted up the front of Scrooge's house and stood in front of him on his window ledge. The Monkey had a round red tag hanging from his collar, printed across it's front was the Monkey's name: Annie's Boobs.

It was then Ebenezer knew the true meaning of quality prime time programing.

So yes true believers, it is a new season.

But don't fret, I still have more Community themed DSC mini's on the way!

DSC Mini 13: Kickpuncher! or The Community says I'm somebody!

With the return of Community quick approaching on February seventh, I decided to celebrate by capturing the the likeness of Kickpuncher (a hybrid of Robocop and Universal Soldier).

I posted the image to Instagram (drawsumthincool) and the good people at community_nbc (Community's official Instagram page) gave me a LIKE!

It's a small taste of recognition, but it's giving me a major mojo boost to want to keep going.

The whole thing is: "Cool...cool...cool."

DrawSumthinCool Specials: The Super Hughes!

So you ask what has Matt been working on while the blog has been sitting idle for so long?

Well sometimes people come to me for something a little more that I do in my normal DSC jobs.

This was a gig from a friend of mine I went to high school with back in the day.

She was looking for the one of a kind gift  for her Husband for Christmas. She contacted me after seeing a posting I had made on Facebook for the most recent family portrait. (Which will be a posting in the near future.)

She wanted the portrait to be the whole family as superheroes with their favorite hobbies and passions as their superpowers.

The image area (the size of the art not including borders) was 8x10. I penciled the art on bristol, inked it, and colored the image digitally in Photoshop, and added lettering and graphics in Illustrator.
