That's right, it's Thursday again and I present this weeks Community themed DSC Mini: Alex "Star-Burns" Osbourne!

He first appeared in Season One: Spanish 101.

DSC MINI 19: Garrett Lambert

"I don't take orders from girls. They don't talk to me."

It's thursday! So it's time for another Community based DSC mini, and this week is Garret Lambert!

His first appearance was in season one's Social Psychology.

Also just wanted to let you know that the big news I've been talking about will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.

DSC MINI 18: John Carpenter's: The Thing!

This drawing all started from a post I saw on Instagram.

The posted an image that immediately evoked images from the John Carpenter remake of "The Thing." Which in my opinion redefined the genre of survival horror.

I told him:

"I'm waiting for #JohnCarpenters#TheThing to come sneaking up behind you."

and he said:

"@drawsumthincool you should draw something cool like that...:

Then I said:

"That's a great idea!"

Then that is what I did.

DSC MINI 17: Magnitude!

Pop Pop! It's Thursday, and you know I'm going to see if I can do a weekly DSC mini Community themed drawing for all of season four. This weeks drawing is the guy with a magnetic personality and full of attitude, it is: Magnitude!

Happy Valentines Day!

I wanted to do something special for my workmates for Valentine's day. So to go along with the Valentine themed temporary tattoos from the good people at Tattly I also made custom gift tags for both the guys and the girls. (I was having a very Pintrest moment.)

Meet DrawSumthinCool Client: Dan!

I've always loved drawing things for people -  it keeps me from cheating. When I am on my own I fall back on what's easy. I don't challenge myself and I get complacent.

When I take requests, sometimes I am thrown a curve that makes me think. It makes me work harder and helps me become a better artist. The hours toiling away at the drawing table are paid off by my favorite part of the process -  hearing back from people that they love what I drew for them. It gives me such an incredible sense of satisfaction.

That's one of the reasons why I decided to do a round of open requests for the new DSC mini line.

My plan now is to take a picture of each client with their finished drawing commission.

My first post on this theme is my pal Dan. He has always been one of my biggest fans. He was one of the first people to put in a request when I asked for drawing ideas for my first DSC minis.

His request was for Alf chasing his cats. He admitted the strange irony for his love the the 80's pop icon Alf, and Alf's fondness for consuming the feline species.

I hope you enjoy the art, Dan! Thanks, man!

S4 of Community premieres, and DSC MINI 17: Annie's Boobs

"Did I miss it?"Asked Scrooge.
"Miss what?" Said the boy looking up from the street?
"Why the season premiere of Community!" Yelled Scrooge.

It was then the monkey that had been sitting on the boy's shoulder sprinted up the front of Scrooge's house and stood in front of him on his window ledge. The Monkey had a round red tag hanging from his collar, printed across it's front was the Monkey's name: Annie's Boobs.

It was then Ebenezer knew the true meaning of quality prime time programing.

So yes true believers, it is a new season.

But don't fret, I still have more Community themed DSC mini's on the way!

DSC MINI 14: The Greendale Human Being

 

 The Greendale Human Being wants to remind everyone thatwe are only 4 days away from the premiere of season four of Community!

As I continue on my countdown to the return of Community, everyone's favorite time and space traveler, Fan-Meme-Supreme: Inspector Spacetime reminds us that we are only five days away till February seventh!

DSC Mini 13: Kickpuncher! or The Community says I'm somebody!

With the return of Community quick approaching on February seventh, I decided to celebrate by capturing the the likeness of Kickpuncher (a hybrid of Robocop and Universal Soldier).

I posted the image to Instagram (drawsumthincool) and the good people at community_nbc (Community's official Instagram page) gave me a LIKE!

It's a small taste of recognition, but it's giving me a major mojo boost to want to keep going.

The whole thing is: "Cool...cool...cool."
